Elisa Fernández Rodríguez started her PhD at the Autonomous University of Madrid in 2023, where she works as a Teaching Assistant and Research Fellow. Her research on Latinx Literature is currently funded by an FPU fellowship (FPU22/01485).
Elisa graduated in English Studies with honors at the University of Oviedo in 2020, where she also obtained a MEd in Secondary Education in 2021. She graduated from the Ruhr Universität Bochum, Germany, with a BA in English and Spanish Studies through a double degree program as well (2020). Elisa also worked as an Adjunct Lecturer in Spanish at the State University of New York at New Paltz, USA (2021-2022).
She holds an MA in English Literature from the Autonomous University of Madrid, where she is currently pursuing her PhD with a focus on gender, border, queer and motherhood studies under the supervision of Dr. Laura Arce Álvarez. Her research focuses on the US/Mexican border, the female body and how both are represented in contemporary literature. She has taught literature courses dealing with 19th century British Literature, Postmodern American Literature and Intersectional Literature.
